Buddy's Roles

Hi Buddy(ies)!

Thank you for the unending supports along the way 

You are important as much as the reader 
You hold the key roles for the overall event
You are the event organised for the day


Here are some check list to do as Buddy...

Before the session

1. Book to Read
Prepare 1 book to read for Plan B, in case of the reader late or cannot make it that day

2. Gift 
Collect attendance stickers and gift for Q&A session from the cabinet at the first floor (behind the librarian's seat



3 things to collect from the cabinet:
#1 the gift box
#2 the early bird attendance record list
#3 the attendance stickers





3. Device Check
Please check all the devices: the visualiser, projector & 2 microphone

notes: usually the librarian will set up all things in advance and buddy need to check whether all the devices working well


3. Table Arrangement

During the session

1. Sitting Arrangement
  • Teacher prefer the student to sit on the stage so as much as there is a space. Please ushering the student to sit on the stage
  • Buddy need to push aside some tables and chairs if there's no enough space to accommodate the children
  • Usher the early bird students to sit at the front lines
example:

#1 There are 2 children laying down on the floor during the session *red circle*
      Please ask them to sit down 



#2 There are some children sitting on the floor *green circle* while there are some space for them on the stage ( Please ask them to move forward and sit on the stage)


2. Noise Management
  • Help to minimize the noise (of the children) to get the clear voice (of the reader)
  • Make sure the children quietly listening
  • If necessary give them "the Shhh sign"

3. Take some pictures
4. Record a short video
5. Time keeper





Q&A session
  • Prepare the microphone a few minutes before Q&A session
  • Pass the microphone to the student that choose to give the answer
  • Help the reader to ask the children raise their hands orderly
  • Control the crowd and noise
                                                                                                                                                                 
 After the session
  • Ask the children to line up in 4 rows to get the sticker
  • Ask them to prepare the handbook
  • Checking all the device (put the microphones back to its place)
  • Return the attendance sticker and gift to the cabinet (behind the librarian's seat)
